One Newcastle United player has claimed that he’s enjoyed a brilliant transformation that has seen him improve so much since he arrived at the club.
Anthony Gordon has been one of Newcastle’s stars this season and is one of the few reasons why the team are still in contention for a European finish despite this recent run of bad form.
In an interview with Amazon, Gordon said that he’d added a lot to his game under the guidance of Eddie Howe and has learned a lot from his teammates this season.
Gordon has been a star for Newcastle this season
It’s been a bit of an up and down season for Newcastle who have enjoyed the highs of Champions League football and are now suffering the lows of six defeats in their last seven games.
One highlight of the season in particular has been the emergence of Gordon who has become a key member of the team when fully fit and offers a different kind of threat in Newcastle’s front line.
With 12 goals and assists in 18 Premier League games, the 22-year-old is one of the first names on the team sheet when he’s fit and is very much the type of player that Howe loves to have at his disposal.
Even Gordon himself has acknowledged the brilliant developments he’s made in his game and is very grateful to have the people around him who have made that possible.
In the interview, Gordon said: “I think you can see, [I have added] so much. I’m a completely different player to when I joined. Probably levels above to be honest. Much more knowledgeable in terms of the game of football and that’s due to the manager and the players I have around me.”

Gordon needs to get back to full fitness
While he’s been one of Newcastle’s most threatening players, Gordon has been struggling as of late with the amount of games he’s had to played and it’s starting to show in his game.
The winger is not tracking back as effectively and his darting runs down the left-hand side aren’t proving to be as deadly, but he’s still a very important part of the team.
It will be good to finally get Harvey Barnes back in the team to have someone who can rotate with the £45m signing and giving a break, though it’s still unclear when the former Leicester man will return from his injury.
