Newcastle United have released the first official pictures of Eddie Howe as Toon manager.
After a lengthy process, the deal was announced on Monday afternoon. Howe has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with the club until the summer of 2024.
And Howe has wasted no time at his new club. The 43-year-old arrived at the training ground at 6.45am this morning with his backroom staff – news that delighted Toon fans.

The fact supporters are so buzzing to see a man show up early for work sums up how low our expectations are. That’s despite media claims that we expect to sign Kylian Mbappe and win the World Cup.
Today was the real first day of the new Toon era, with the new manager completing his first training session with his new team.
And the club have released a selection of images from the session.
The Eddie Howe pictures we’ve all been waiting for
The pictures show Howe putting the players through their paces, whilst donning a Castore jacket with the initials ‘EH’ on it. At least they haven’t just given him Steve Bruce’s old coat…
This will have been an important session from Howe. It will have allowed him to set his stall out early. He’ll have made it clear what he expects from the players, and it was their first chance to show the new boss what they are made of.

It’s a clean slate at Newcastle United. A new manager will bring new opportunities for players who have fallen out of favour or struggled for form.
The likes of Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez will be hoping to return to the side, while Callum Wilson and Matt Ritchie will understand what is expected of them having worked with Howe before.
It’s an exciting time to be a Newcastle fan, and Howe’s first training session will hopefully be the beginning of an exciting tenure at St James’ Park.
