Newcastle United will face Cambridge United in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Magpies will host the League One side at St. James’ Park, with the tie to be played between the 7th and the 10th of January.
Last season, Newcastle were knocked out of the competition at the very first hurdle by Arsenal.
The Gunners needed extra-time, but ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates Stadium after goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Newcastle’s opponents in the third round this time around are Cambridge, who currently sit 16th in League One.
They beat Northampton Town and Exeter City to reach this point, and will no doubt be eyeing a scalp.

Eddie Howe will be determined to prevent a giant-killing though, and he’ll want to ensure a successful and professional job.
Newcastle are already out of the Carabao Cup having lost on penalties to Burnley. And it’s been a hard start in the Premier League, with some tough fixtures on the horizon.
So fans will be hoping for a good run in the FA Cup, which Newcastle have won six times – although not once since 1955.
