Newcastle striker Callum Wilson has once again been hanging out with James Maddison in the England camp setting tongues wagging.
Also in the England set-up is Leicester City’s James Maddison who has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle for around a year now.
Maddison and Callum Wilson have teamed up to tease Newcastle fans with Instagram stories. Okay, not really, Maddison has posted several images with different England players, but fans like to connect the dots anyway.
Wilson and Maddison are setting tongues wagging on Tyneside
It started with Maddison posting a reel with Callum Wilson lining up a shot during a game of pool which went around NUFC social media circles with various different captions added to it teasing Maddison’s future.
Then Wilson reposted it to his Instagram reel with the caption “Teaching Madders a lesson”. The pair have already been snapped chatting on the training pitch hinting at their friendship.

During the World Cup in Qatar, Maddison got close with Kieran Trippier, Nick Pope and Callum Wilson which was mentioned relentlessly in interviews as players and pundits tried to tease out whether Maddison was Newcastle-bound in January.
Obviously that didn’t happen, but here we are again with the summer transfer window looming large on the horizon, any possible way Maddison can be linked to Newcastle he will be, even if it’s something as innocent as a training ground photo.

Newcastle fans are very inventive when it comes to transfer links
And you know what? I’m here for it. I love silly season, seeing Newcastle linked with every player under the sun and seeing fans absurd links to try and justify a transfer story. It’s brilliant and long may it continue.
As for whether Maddison will finally make that switch to Newcastle will probably come down to whether or not Leicester will lower their £60million asking price.
