Mikel Arteta will hope to have Bukayo Saka fit and firing for Arsenal’s trip to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Indeed, Arsenal are under pressure ahead of the Newcastle United game, given they already trail Premier League title rivals Liverpool by five points.
Much has been made about Arteta’s supposedly defensive tactics costing the Gunners when it comes to trying to wrestle the title from the Reds, so a statement performance may be needed on Sunday.
It’s certainly a tough game for the North London giants. Newcastle United boast a strong record against them in recent seasons, particularly at Sunday’s venue in St James’ Park.
While Arsenal boast a very deep squad, Noni Madueke has been ruled out for the next few weeks in a major blow ahead of their trip to Tyneside.
With that in mind, they could certainly do with having Saka available for the game.

Bukayo Saka likely to be fit for Newcastle United vs Arsenal
The England international is only just returning from an injury and was replaced during Arsenal’s Carabao Cup win over Port Vale on Wednesday night.
Saka went down under a heavy tackle, which may have sparked fears amongst supporters.
However, Arteta confirmed that the fact he came off after 60 minutes was pre-planned and that Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Newcastle game.

The Arsenal boss said: “It was planned, 60 minutes was the maximum.
“We had four, almost five players already in the line-up that we had to get him out for different reasons, especially for load because he was coming from long periods out.
“So we planned for that and the good thing is that nobody got injured, so there are no muscular issues. So that’s a very positive thing again.”
Newcastle’s injury list, meanwhile, includes Yoane Wissa, Jacob Ramsey and Fabian Schar.
Bukayo Saka’s goals and assists record against Newcastle United
The Arsenal squad is dripping with quality, so Saka is clearly not the only player on which to focus.
In 11 games against Newcastle United over the course of his career, Saka has scored three goals and registered one assist.

He’s been on the winning side against the Magpies on seven occasions, drawing one and losing the other three.
