Bruno Guimaraes has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for October, but wants Newcastle fans to vote for Miguel Almiron.
Three Magpies players are in contention, with Kieran Trippier also being recognised for his sensational performances.
October was an incredible month for Eddie Howe’s team. It saw Newcastle win five and draw once, picking up 16 points to propel them into fourth.
Bruno and Trippier have both been fantastic in a black and white shirt, each showing why they are so important to the Toon project. We are lucky to have them, and it still doesn’t feel real that they play for our club.
They have to be considered the two best signings made by the new owners. However, it is not all about the money that has been spent.

Howe has done a brilliant job at getting more out of the players that he inherited. And that brings us to Almiron.
The 28-year-old will remember last month for the rest of his life. He scored six goals for Newcastle, including some absolute stunners. Miggy is playing with insane confidence, and looks like a player transformed.
He won Newcastle’s own player of the month award on Wednesday, and now he could be acknowledged throughout the whole Premier League.
However, he does face stiff competition. Alongside Bruno and Trippier, there are also nominations for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne, Granit Xhaka and Toon transfer target Leandro Trossard.
But it is Almiron who should come out on top, and his teammate Bruno has delivered an important message via social media.
Bruno wants Almiron to win POTM
Following news of his nomination, Bruno has taken to Twitter.
While he is proud to be nominated, he doesn’t want fans to vote for him. In fact, he doesn’t want them to vote for Trippier either. Instead, he feels that only one player deserves to be named Premier League Player of the Month for October.
He wrote: “Very proud to be running for the best of the month again, but I wanted to ask you to vote from miggy, even if me and @trippier2 are doing well, miggy is living his dreams.”
Class act Bruno Guimaraes
It’s a classy message from Bruno, and epitomises the team spirit that Howe has created at St James’ Park.
Players aren’t bothered about individual honours or recognition. It is all about the team.
A Premier League POTM award might look good on Bruno’s mantelpiece, but he would rather it went to the man who is living his dream.
Almiron absolutely deserves to win it. What he did in October was absolutely breathtaking. It shocked Toon fans, and it shocked opponents too.
He is suddenly like a different player, showcasing confidence that we have never seen from him since his move to Tyneside. That was summed up by his goal against Aston Villa.
Hopefully he can carry on this form between now and the World Cup, then pick up where he left off when football resumes in December.
But for now, Bruno wants you to vote for Miggy for Premier League Player of the Month!
