Football insiders at Newcastle United have now revealed what left Bruno Guimaraes stunned about Lewis Miley after his rapid rise to the first team.
Due to injuries, Miley has been thrust into the starting lineup much sooner than Eddie Howe would have liked, but so far he’s taken it all in his stride.
The i are now reporting that it is the 17-year-old’s natural ability and footballing IQ that has impressed Bruno the most over the last few months.
Miley looks like he belongs in Newcastle’s midfield
From afar, Miley looks and plays like an experienced midfielder who’s been at the heart of Newcastle’s team in the last decade and knows exactly where to be and when to be there.
Look a little closer and you’ll realise that he’s just a kid playing for his boyhood club on the world’s biggest footballing stage and doing so with such joy and confidence.
Newcastle’s star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been in awe of Miley’s ability ever since he came into the fold, making his first ever start in the Carabao Cup against Manchester City back in September.
As The i reports, it is also his maturity that has impressed everyone at the club and the fact that he is not fazed by anything, especially not playing against PSG in a crucial Champions League fixture.
“Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes has been left stunned by his natural ability and football IQ. Dressing room insiders tell i that it is his maturity that most sticks out. He’s not fazed by anything.”

Miley is a future star for the Magpies
It’s crazy to think that in 10 years time Miley will still only be 27-years-old, the same age that his midfield teammate Joelinton is now and just one year older than Bruno.
Newcastle have seen so much talent from the young man who could be a real star in the North East and yet they’ve hardly scratched the surface in terms of what his true potential could look like.
As Bruno already knows, Miley is technically brilliant and has a great footballing brain, but it is now about filling his frame out and becoming a more physical player for Newcastle in the Premier League.
As ever, Howe will want to take it slow and not put too much pressure on the teenager who is already playing more first-team football than the head coach would have initially liked, despite it being a great learning experience.
