Bruno Guimaraes has issued another apology to Newcastle United fans after losing to Sunderland.
Newcastle United were beaten 1-0 by Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby, with Eddie Howe’s side putting in an abject performance that was not befitting of such an important game.
It was a rotten display from Newcastle United, who wilted under the pressure of derby day. They seemed to treat it like any other game, whereas Sunderland rose to the occasion.
Simple question, has Eddie Howe taken Newcastle United as far as he can? 👀
Following the defeat, Bruno Guimaraes slammed Newcastle’s embarrassing performance. It was an emotional response from an emotional player, with Bruno Guimaraes pulling no punches.
Now the Brazilian has spoken out again, taking to social media to express his disappointment at Newcastle’s derby day disaster.
Bruno Guimaraes wants Newcastle to be ‘united’ after losing to Sunderland
24 hours after Newcastle United’s defeat to Sunderland, Bruno has posted a lengthy message to fans on his Instagram story.
“Reflecting a lot on what happened yesterday, we sincerely apologise to the fans for what occurred,” he wrote.
“Not only because of the result, but also because of the way everything unfolded. I believe our chances to ‘set things right’ will only come in March, but with the schedule we have, there’s no time to waste.

“On Wednesday we already have another very important match that could put us in our third semi-final in four years together.
“We still have many games ahead of us, and we will go through every situation if we stay united. There’s no time to blame anyone, because this team’s greatest quality is working with the 11 as if they were one.
“Howay the lads.”

How can this Newcastle team get fans back onside after losing to Sunderland?
Bruno Guimaraes was one of few Newcastle United players that did not bottle the derby
Newcastle’s attitude against Sunderland was all wrong. They sat back and tried to counter, while they almost looked scared of their rivals.
There were no full-blooded challenges from Eddie Howe’s players, who were pretty much bullied by the Black Cats.
While Howe insists Newcastle were good off the ball, that assessment could not be further from the truth. He was let down by his players, who were not up for the fight.
However, that statement does not apply to Bruno. The 28-year-old tried his best to turn the tide against Sunderland, seemingly determined to singlehandedly save his side in the second half.
It was ultimately all in vain, with Bruno already plotting Newcastle’s revenge against Sunderland. Until then, he wants the club to be united, but that is something we have heard far too often during an inconsistent season.
