Bruno Guimaraes is really hoping that one of his Newcastle United teammates commits his future to the club in the next few weeks.

Newcastle have been negotiating with Joelinton for a while now trying to agree terms on a new deal and yesterday the news emerged that things were progressing well in discussions.

Bruno was streaming on Twitch last night when he made it very clear that he was hoping his teammate would soon be signing a new contract to extend his stay on Tyneside.

Just like most Newcastle supporters, Bruno does not want to see the back of his international teammate in the summer who he has formed such a great bond with over the last couple of years.

The 26-year-old has played a huge part in Joelinton’s development as a player helping him to elevate his own game and force his way into the Brazil national team, something nobody would have though possible before Eddie Howe.

Given his improvements and increased stature in the team, Joelinton feels it is only fair that he his given a new contract with improved terms that will put him amongst the highest earners at the club.

Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley is now believed to be heading the negotiations following the departure of Dan Ashworth and it looks like she’s really ramped up the plans to keep the £40m star in the North East.

On the stream, Bruno said: “I hope, I hope Joe signs. I hope so.”

Newcastle have nobody else like Joelinton

As Howe previously claimed, Newcastle have a very unique player in Joelinton with his physicality and energy in midfield that has proved to be so key in big games over the last couple of seasons.

The 27-year-old has been missing ever since he picked up that injury against Sunderland in the FA Cup and Newcastle’s midfield just hasn’t quite been the same.

It wasn’t until Joe Willock came back from injury when they saw a huge difference in including a player with a bit of energy and pace, and Joelinton certainly has that in abundance.

Newcastle are still hoping that they can see the return of Joelinton before the end of the season teaming up with Bruno once again, but they’ll have to be very careful with his injury which is expected to keep him out until May.
