Bruno Guimaraes will hopefully stay at Newcastle United for many years to come.
Geordie Boot Boys understands that Newcastle want to offer Guimaraes a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2028.
Guimaraes has been one of Newcastle’s best-ever signings. The club paid around £40million to sign him from Lyon in January 2022 and he’s since made 163 appearances.
The Brazil international captained the club to their first major domestic trophy in March and even that does not tell the whole story.
The passion with which Guimaraes represents the club has made him one of their most popular players in recent memory.
At some point, however, there will come a day when he leaves Newcastle. Hopefully, that’s many years from now.

Paulo Henrique wants Bruno Guimaraes to join Vasco da Gama
Guimaraes recorded a glorious assist for Vasco da Gama defender Paulo Henrique during Brazil’s dramatic defeat to Japan on Tuesday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side went 2-0 up in Tokyo but later collapsed to a 3-2 defeat after the break.
Speaking after the game, Henrique was asked about life in the national team.
He joked that he’s been trying to get Guimaraes and Tottenham forward Richarlison to join him at Vasco, given they are fans of the club.
“The group also welcomed me incredibly well,” he said (via Globo Esporte).
“There were some guys I already knew, who I played against in Rio de Janeiro.
“And then there’s Bruno Guimaraes and Richarlison, who are Vasco fans. I’m trying to get them both to join Vasco. It was an incredible experience. I was treated very well by everyone and I hope to be back with them soon, because those were truly special moments.”

The midfielder began his career at Audax in 2015 but had trained with Vasco as a youngster.
He initially got into sport after suffering from pneumonia as a child, with his parents taking him to swimming classes.
However, he eventually discovered football as his true calling and began training with the Rio giants at the very early stages of his journey.
In April 2022, he told the Newcastle United official website: “The first time I played football was for Vasco da Gama.
“I actually got into sport because of the illness, because of pneumonia, but it was swimming rather than football. My mum didn’t like football, as my dad would be playing football all the time, so it was illness that brought me there via swimming.”
