Bruno Guimaraes has delivered a message of support to Newcastle United teammate Allan Saint-Maximin after the Frenchman vowed that ‘the best is yet to come’ from him.

While Newcastle have been excellent this season, it has been a difficult campaign for ASM. He has spent most of the season out injured, and has not started a Premier League game since August.

The 25-year-old did start the season in impressive fashion. He enjoyed an incredible game against Manchester City, where he was directly involved in all three of Newcastle’s goals. Then he followed it up with a goal of the month winning strike against Wolves.

But since then we have barely seen Maxi. He has been limited to cup appearances and cameos off the bench, having only just returned to full fitness.

Saint-Maximin is currently being kept out of the team by Joelinton, but will hope to start in this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

Ahead of the game, Newcastle’s number 10 has posted a message to his official Instagram account, and made a vow to supporters.

Saint-Maximin delivers social media message, Bruno responds

The talented winger has thanked fans for their support, and vowed that he can still get even better.

He wrote: “For this new year starting I wanted to thank everyone for the support & everyone that always believed in me in good as well as bad moments. A chapter of my career is turned, I will give everything as I always did for better days to come. I hope you guys are ready, the best is yet to come.”

The post has already received a response from Maxi’s Toon teammate Bruno. He replied: “I’m always with you.”

Bruno and Saint-Maximin appear to have a great understanding, with the former stating last month that he loves to play alongside the latter.

They both make Newcastle a better team, and are capable of providing that moment of magic in tight games. We have seen it plenty of times this season from Bruno, but not enough from Saint-Maximin.

That has been down to injury, but now Saint-Maximin is fully fit and ready to make up for lost time. He is unstoppable on his day, and he could play a huge role in Newcastle’s bid to qualify for the Champions League.

But, first things first, he needs to get back into Eddie Howe’s starting XI.
