Lewis Miley is not the only Newcastle United player who is back from injury.
The Magpies are currently preparing for Saturday’s game against Brighton, with Eddie Howe putting his players through their paces. Well, the players he has available at least.
Newcastle United are still awaiting the return of some of their internationals, with Bruno Guimaraes and Miguel Almiron likely to arrive back last after competing in South America in the early hours of Wednesday morning BST.
In the meantime, Newcastle have welcomed Lewis Miley back from injury. He has not played for the club in seven months, having suffered a back injury and then a broken metatarsal.
But the 18-year-old has been pictured back in training ahead of this weekend’s game at St James’ Park.
Another Newcastle United player is back from injury
And Lewis Miley is not the only Newcastle United player who is back from injury.
Martin Dubravka has also been spotted in the training pictures that Newcastle have uploaded to their official website.
The 35-year-old’s return comes after he was forced off during the Carabao Cup win over Wimbledon. Dubravka took a nasty whack in the first half, and it resulted in Odysseas Vlachodimos playing the second 45 minutes. That blow resulted in Dubravka missing the draw with Everton, with the Rafa Benitez signing not fit enough to make the bench at Goodison Park.
Dubravka then subsequently missed the international break, with Slovakia drawing with Sweden then beating Azerbaijan in the Nations League without him.
But he is back in training now, and seemingly over his injury problem. With Dubravka back in training, he will be competing with Vlachodimos and John Ruddy for a place on the bench against Brighton.

Newcastle United fans await official striker update ahead of Brighton
While Miley and Dubravka have been seen back in training after their injury problems, Toon fans are still awaiting an official update on Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.
The former has missed Newcastle’s last three games due to a broken toe, while the latter has been absent all season.
It has been reported that Isak and Wilson will be fit to face Brighton, but they have not been seen in any of the training pictures. There is still no official confirmation that they will be available this weekend.
Hopefully that changes on Friday when Eddie Howe speaks to the media.
