Another transfer target has gone begging for Newcastle United, with Axel Tuanzebe joining Aston Villa.
The central defender from Manchester United will spend the 2021/22 season on loan at Villa Park, where he has had two previous spells, one under Steve Bruce.
Tuanzebe will look to challenge the likes of Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa for a starting berth.
He can also play at right-back, and can therefore provide cover for Matty Cash.
It is another frustrating blow for Newcastle, who became linked with Tuanzebe last month.

The 23-year-old was said to be a Magpies loan target, but it was also reported that Manchester United wanted to secure a £5 million loan fee.
It remains to be seen how much game time he actually get at Villa Park. There is certainly an argument that he would have gotten more minutes at St. James’ Park.
Tuanzebe opting to move to a different club is yet another case of Newcastle missing out on a target.

Kris Ajer and William Saliba were both strongly linked with a move to the club before joining Brentford and Marseille respectively.
