Newcastle United will be facing a new manager next season, with Ange Postecoglou confirmed as the new Tottenham Hotspur boss.
The 2022/23 Premier League campaign was a rough one for Spurs. At one point they were battling with Newcastle to qualify for the Champions League, but it ended with the North London side finishing in eighth and missing out on Europe completely.
It has been chaos at Spurs ever since Antonio Conte’s departure, but now they have finally announced his replacement. Postecoglou has left his job at Celtic to join Tottenham, signing a four-year deal.
It will be the 57-year-old’s first job in England, but he arrives with a brilliant reputation after two massively successful seasons with Celtic. The Australian won five trophies in two years with the Hoops, all the while playing brilliant football.
Spurs fans will be keen to see him instill that style, as prepares for a mammoth rebuilding job. Tottenham are a real mess, and Postecoglou is the man tasked with rectifying the situation.

They will hope to be much more competitive next season, and will look to close the gap to Newcastle, who have taken their place in the Champions League. Postecoglou knows all about the Magpies’ upturn in fortunes, and recently spoke about wanting to come up against Eddie Howe’s side.
Ange Postecoglou will be excited to face Newcastle as Spurs boss
When he was still Celtic manager, Postecoglou spoke about possibly coming up against Newcastle in next season’s Champions League – and he was very complimentary about Howe and his team.
“Yeah, that would be nice,” he said.
“Knowing the passions of both sets of supporters, those would be two games nobody would want to miss out on – home and away. There would be an unbelievable atmosphere at both.”

While Postecoglou won’t experience that ‘unbelievable’ atmosphere in the Champions League, he will definitely be on his way to St James’ Park next season when Spurs travel to the North East in the Premier League.
He will hope his new team do a lot better than their last visit to Tyneside, when they were on the end of an embarrassing 6-1 defeat.
