Andrey Santos can achieve two dreams if he joins Newcastle United

Newcastle United are reportedly confident they can sign Andrey Santos, and he is someone who really admires Toon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The 18-year-old is one of South America’s most in demand talents right now, having excelled for Vasco da Gama. Santos has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, and he is also a target for Newcastle.

90min recently stated that the Magpies are confident they can bring Santos to St James’ Park, and want to do exactly that in January. It has been claimed that he will cost more than £25million.

Santos would be a signing for the future, as Dan Ashworth looks to bring in players who can grow and develop on Tyneside.

The teenager has the potential to do exactly that, and a move to Newcastle would allow him to play alongside fellow Brazilian Bruno.

Santos’ activity on social media makes it very clear he’s a fan of the 25-year-old, and now he has spoken out about his love for Bruno.

Andrey Santos on Bruno Guimaraes and playing in Europe

The Newcastle transfer target has spoken to Brazilian outlet Lance, and expressed his admiration for the Magpies’ number 39.

“I really like Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães and Thiago Alcântara,” he said.

“These guys are phenomenal, I look up to them a lot.”

Santos then spoke about his future plans: “it is clear that football in Europe is much more advanced than here in Brazil and every boy has the dream of playing in Europe. But I am calm about it, because I know that everything will turn out well.”

Move to Newcastle could be a dream come true

Santos looks up to Bruno, and soon he could be learning from him.

It was recently claimed that Newcastle hope Bruno’s profile can help the club make some key signings from South America. That likely includes Santos, who has been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park.

And Newcastle’s hope could become a reality. Santos would surely love the opportunity to call Bruno his teammate. It would allow him to develop his game alongside a player he admires, and see exactly what makes him so special.

A move to the North East would also allow Santos to achieve his dream of playing in Europe. A move is inevitable – it is just a matter of when and where.

It would be a real masterstroke if Ashworth can pull this deal off. He is trying to bring top class youngsters to the club, and has already done it once with the Garang Kuol deal.

Arrivals from South America are next on the agenda, and Santos is certainly an exciting target.

Hopefully his love for Bruno and desire to play in Europe can convince him that Newcastle is the right place to be.
