Allan Saint-Maximin has vowed to get back to his very best form for Newcastle United amid recent undeserved criticism.
The Frenchman has posted on Instagram about the criticism he has had for his recent performances amid fitness issues as well.
The forward has been Newcastle’s talisman at times during his time at the club but as the general performances of the team have improved, Saint-Maximin has not been at his best.
And Callum Wilson was in the comments with a two-emoji post backing his teammate after he sent the defiant message.
People do have short memories.
When Newcastle were really toiling under Steve Bruce, Saint-Maximin was often one of the only bright sparks and one of the few players capable of causing a threat.

Newcastle are playing better now and he has been injured, but it is a good thing that they are not so reliant on the mercurial Frenchman.
He was absolutely sensational against Everton earlier this year and that level of performance is something special; that not many players can do.
He will get back to his best and fit into Eddie Howe’s improving side all in good time, and he needs all Magpies supporting him meanwhile.
