In any Newcastle United fixture, Allan Saint-Maximin is always seen as the dangerman. But tonight’s clash with Everton is especially a great opportunity for the Frenchman to flourish.
Both sides will be looking to take three points from the fixture as they look to avoid relegation. The winger is the Magpies’ main attacking outlet and contributor.
Toon legend Alan Shearer has previously stated on the Premier League YouTube channel his thoughts on him, saying, “He can pick out a pass but also has the ability to blow a game wide open with a moment of brilliance.
“The fans can see he has bags of potential and gets people out of their seats.”

Saint-Maximin needs to test Everton’s vulnerable full backs
With bags of pace and immense dribbling, the man signed by Steve Bruce is a handful for any full-back in the league. The Toffees are likely to start with Vitalii Mykolenko at left-back, who joined in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old is totally new to the Premier League, this means that Saint-Maximin should look to test him. His previously mentioned strong attributes could prove to be too much for the new signing.
In addition, at right-back, they’re likely to go with veteran Seamus Coleman. The Ireland international at one point was a top full-back for Everton. However, he’s just past his prime now, so the Frenchman should also look to take him on at any given opportunity.
This season has shown that the Toffees are prone to conceding. A player like Saint-Maximin could be someone they struggle to handle. He’ll also want to provide service to Chris Wood, who is an aerial threat and will pose a big problem for the centre-halves.

Both sides come into the game with confidence. Everton thrashed Brentford 4-1 in the FA Cup last weekend, while the Magpies won their last league game away at Leeds.
If the Toon Army are to take all three points tonight, then everyone will need to be on top form. If Newcastle can get Saint-Maximin involved early on that will be key to their attack.
The 24-year-old has at times this season been an influential player this season. Hopefully, in this clash between two relegation fighting teams, we can see the winger at his best.
