You will struggle to find a Newcastle United fan who doesn’t love Allan Saint-Maximin.
On and off the pitch he’s hit all the right notes.
We’ve had a visit to the Newcastle foodbank, as well as banter on Twitter at the expense of our rivals Sunderland.
And with a football at his feet he’s electric.
Saint-Maximin is the kind of player you pay to see. You want him to get the ball. You want to see what he can do.
And more often than not, he delivers.
He’s scored three goals so far for Newcastle, and they’ve all been crucial.
His first – a header against Sheffield United – set us on the way to a huge away win.
The second was a rocket that put us into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
And his most recent strike ensured we left Southampton with all three points, distancing ourselves from the relegation zone.
That was the last time we saw Newcastle play, with the global health pandemic putting a temporary stop to football. Now Saint-Maximin’s goal looks even more important.
The doors are shut at Newcastle’s training ground, meaning players are having to do their own workouts at home to ensure they stay fit.
Saint-Maximin is no different, and he provided fans with an update on his home fitness routine.
But the biggest talking point was the fact he was clad out in full Toon kit, wearing the orange away jersey whilst he puts himself through his paces.
Saint-Maximin can do no wrong in a Newcastle shirt – literally.
