Alexander Isak spoke to Emil Krafth about joining Newcastle United

Alexander Isak is officially a Newcastle United player, and he spoke to Emil Krafth before making the move.

The club have confirmed the arrival of the Swedish striker, who becomes the club’s new record signing. He has cost £59million from Real Sociedad, and has signed a six-year deal at St James’ Park.

It’s a huge piece of business by the Toon owners, who have made a real statement by bringing Isak to the club.

He’s only 22-years-old, meaning he has a long career ahead of him. But he already has a lot of experience in senior football, as well as boasting 37 caps for his country.

Isak is a regular for Sweden, where plays alongside Krafth in yellow. Now the pair will be playing together in black and white stripes as well.

What Emil Krafth told Alexander Isak about Newcastle

Following the move, Isak has spoke to NUFC TV. He was asked if he had spoke anyone about Newcastle before deciding to make the move.

“I’ve spoken a bit to people I know that’s been around the club and Emil, who is in the club right now,” he said.

“Yeah, they only had good things to say about the club, fans and the city.”

Krafth can help £59m man settle on Tyneside

When Bruno Guimaraes joined Newcastle, he leaned on Joelinton to help him settle in at his new club. Now Krafth can do the same for Isak.

The striker does have the luxury of being able to speak English, but he will face the usual challenges of moving to a different part of the world.

Isak has played in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and Spain, and now he arrives in the North East of England.

Krafth made a similar move in 2019, and is now a very popular player on Tyneside. He improved dramatically last season under Eddie Howe.

Hopefully the Swedish right-back mentioned the manager’s impact when discussing Newcastle with Isak. But regardless, Krafth’s positive words clearly had the desired effect.

Isak is a Magpie, and will hopefully go on to become a superstar at St James’ Park. The price tag will put him under some pressure, but the fans that Krafth has told him all about will back him all the way.
