Newcastle United are expected to have Alexander Isak fit to face Manchester United on Sunday.
The Magpies are back at St James’ Park this weekend, with Newcastle predicted to beat Manchester United.
Eddie Howe’s side are the favourites, as they go in search of their fifth consecutive victory. However, that will be a lot tougher if Alexander Isak is not involved.
The 25-year-old suffered a groin injury during the win over Brentford, but was fit enough to start against Leicester City. Isak was substituted in the second half of that game, but Howe insisted he was merely resting his superstar striker.

Injury update on Alexander Isak
Ahead of Sunday’s game against Manchester United, Jason Tindall has spoken to the media in place of an under the weather Eddie Howe.
The Newcastle United assistant manager has provided an update on Isak’s condition, stating that he has trained this week and is expected to be involved against Ruben Amorim’s side.
That is a massive boost, as the striker aims to add to his tally of 24 goals so far this season.
Whether Anthony Gordon will return against Manchester United
While Isak is expected to start for Newcastle against Man United, it remains to be seen if Anthony Gordon will be involved.
The 24-year-old is no longer suspended, but missed Newcastle’s win over Leicester due to an injury he sustained on international duty.
There was hope that Gordon would feature against the Foxes, but Howe stated after the game that he was not close to being involved.
With Manchester United up next on Sunday, Tindall says there is a possibility of Gordon making his comeback.
“He’s had a decent week with the physios,” he said.
“He was back out on grass for a session yesterday so we’ll assess him today to see how he’s responded to that then we’ll have to make a late call on whether he’s available for Sunday.”
Having Gordon fit and available will be a major boost, as Newcastle continue their mission to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
But even if he is ready to return, it feels extremely unlikely that Gordon will start against the Red Devils. Harvey Barnes has been playing very well in Gordon’s absence, and deserves to retain his place in the starting XI even if his teammate is fully fit.
