Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon won the Under-21 European Championship less than a week ago. Now he is back preparing for the new Premier League season.
It was only Saturday when Gordon was celebrating with his England teammates, as they beat Spain 1-0 in the final. It was an incredible evening for the young Three Lions, particularly Gordon. He was named the player of the tournament, and it was an honour he richly deserved.
The 22-year-old was exceptional in an England shirt, and Toon fans are eager to see if he can play just as well in black and white.
This is expected to be a big season for Gordon. He did not set the world alight immediately after his £45million arrival, but there is huge positivity behind the scenes.
Staff believe he is going to develop into a key player for the Magpies, and he is already already to start preparing for the 2023/24 campaign.

Anthony Gordon reports for Newcastle pre-season
Newcastle’s players returned for pre-season training at the start of the week, but those who had been on international duty were given an extended break. That included Gordon, who was still playing competitive football as recently as Saturday.
It felt like that the former Everton man would get a longer leave of absence, but that has not proven to be the case.
On Friday, the club shared images of Alexander Isak and Sven Botman returning to training, and they were followed by Gordon.
Six days after winning the Under-21 European Championship, Gordon has already reported back to the training ground for pre-season.
That shows real dedication, and will fill fans with even more confidence that this is going to be a special year for the Scouser.
It is a shock to see him back in training so soon. There is clearly no rest for the wicked, as Gordon looks to make an early impression and show Eddie Howe just how ready he is for his first full season as a Newcastle United player.
