One of Newcastle United’s summer targets has now declared his desire to join the Premier League as his future at Juventus looks doubtful.

Newcastle are looking to improve in a number of positions this summer with a limited budget, but one of the positions high on their priority is a new right-winger.

They had been scouting Matias Soule ahead of January, and now, speaking to DSPORTS Radio, the winger claimed that it would be a ‘dream’ to move to the Premier League.

Newcastle handed huge transfer boost for new attacker

It’s fair to say that Miguel Almiron has not enjoyed the greatest of season’s after what was an impressive campaign last year where he netted 11 times in the Premier League, seven more than his previous highest.

Jacob Murphy has enjoyed successful spells throughout the season, but ultimately neither are good enough for where Newcastle want to be in the next couple of years.

That has forced them to look for possible alternatives and in doing so have identified Soule as one for the future having sent scouts over to Italy to watch the impressive attacker who is enjoying a great spell at Frosinone at the minute.

Soule has 10 goals and two assists in 22 Serie A games so far and Juventus are ideally hoping to cash in on his good form in the summer to raise funds to help solve their financial issues.

On a possible move, Soule said: “If they give me the choice of a league, I would go to England. Everyone knows that it’s one of the best leagues, it would be a dream to play there. I would also like to be able to stay at Juventus.”

Newcastle have a way of raising the fund for Juventus man

Questions will be asked, of course, as to how Newcastle are going to be able to afford Soule’s £34m price tag when there are other areas of the squad in which Eddie Howe would also like to improve.

While the 46-year-old head coach may not want to do it this way, Almiron is one of the few sellable assets Newcastle possess who wouldn’t deliver a huge blow to the side if he was to leave.

There was serious interest in the Paraguayan in January with the club having accepted an offer from Al Shabab, and it looks like there could be more suitors for him in the summer.

Newcastle must offload in order to bring new faces in and this seems like the most feasible option along with Callum Wilson who may have played his final game as a Newcastle player.
