Jonjo Shelvey’s move to Nottingham Forest hasn’t exactly gone according to plan and now the former England international looks likely to move on just six months after signing from Newcastle United.
Last month it was rumoured that Jonjo Shelvey would be moved on this summer and now that the window is open that possibility is edging closer to becoming a reality.
Shelvey fell out with Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper after he was told he wouldn’t be in the squad to face Liverpool. Since being sent home from training that day, Shelvey found himself completely out of Cooper’s plans, not even featuring on the bench again for the remainder of the season.
Shelvey isn’t the only former Magpie on the Forest chopping block
Unless Shelvey has gone back to Cooper with a groveling apology, it’s very likely that he’s played his last game for Forest despite only joining them in January this year.

It’s not just Shelvey in the Forest firing line either. A poll taken by The Nottingham Post found that the majority of Forest fans would like to see the club sell Chris Wood too. Only 25% of the supporters who answered the poll want Wood to stay. It’s even worse for Shelvey, who is bottom of the list with 5%.
Wood made the loan move to Forest from Newcastle in January with the deal officially becoming permanent on the first day of the transfer window. That move came about due to a very odd clause that meant Forest had an obligation to buy Wood for £15million after making just three appearances.

Hopefully Shelvey can get himself sorted and find a decent club
Whether the Forest fans get their wish when it comes to Wood remains to be seen given that he’s technically only just signed for them, but it definitely looks to be curtains for Shelvey.
The former Liverpool man has been the subject of much ridicule in the media and online lately due to a bizarre story from a girl who allegedly went back to his place after a night out where Shelvey played a video of his highlights.
It can’t be a very happy time for Shelvey right now, but hopefully things turn a corner and he gets things back on track.
