Kieran Tierney is wanted by Newcastle United but the Arsenal left-back has his doubters due to his injury record.

Reports have been circling for a while that Newcastle are keen on Scotland international Kieran Tierney who is valued by Arsenal at £30million.

Newcastle are refusing to pay that much for the 26-year-old Neil Lennon once hailed as ‘magnificent‘ but he still remains high on the transfer priority list.

Tierney’s spotty injury record is a cause for concern for Newcastle fans

However, not all Newcastle fans are convinced by the Scot due to a worrying injury record and he didn’t do much to alleviate their fears yesterday coming off injured as Scotland beat Norway 2-1 as reported by Sky Sports.

Tierney left the field after 65 minutes after picking up a knock. Not a lot else has been said about it since, which suggests that it’s not a big injury, but it will still have the nay-sayers issuing very loud “I told you so’s” today.

According to Sky Sports Tierney was having a decent game before he went off with him receiving an 8/10 for his contribution.

Newcastle are now looking at Marc Cucurella for left-back

Now with reports coming out that Newcastle are interested in Marc Cucurella from Chelsea who could be available for £30million, Eddie Howe has a choice of a player with a spotty injury record or one who has just one good season to his name in the Premier League.

I’d be happy with either as I’m sure Eddie Howe could get the best out of Cucurella again, as he could with Kieran Tierney.

Howe has proved with Callum Wilson that he knows how to manage injury prone players, so as much of a risk it may be to sign Tierney, I’m confident that Howe will have a plan.
