Time is running out for Isaac Hayden to secure a move away from Newcastle United.
It is very clear that the midfielder has no future at St James’ Park. He has not played for Eddie Howe‘s side since December 2021, and it is all but certain that he will never don the famous black and white stripes ever again.
Hayden spent last season on loan at Norwich City, and has been very close to securing another loan move away from the Magpies. He had agreed to sign for newly promoted Luton Town, but that move has now collapsed. At this moment in time, it is unclear why.
With less than three days to go before the transfer window closes, Hayden is facing a race against time to leave Newcastle and join another team.
And while he has not been playing for Newcastle, he has at least been keeping himself fit ahead of a potential move away. However, that has actually been away from Tyneside.

Isaac Hayden has not trained with Newcastle
The Athletic’s George Caulkin has been speaking on the latest episode of Pod On The Tyne and shared some interesting information about what Hayden has been doing this summer.
“Howe gave players like Hayden the chance to come back but it would have been to train with the Under-18s or the Under-23s,” he said.
“But he didn’t have a house up here anymore so didn’t see much value in that. He’s stayed down south to keep himself fit.”
Move away is essential for Hayden
It had just been assumed that Hayden was training with the Under-21s all summer, as it was clear that he had no role at senior level.

However, turns out he has not been on Tyneside at all and has been keeping himself fit away from the club. It sounds dramatic, but it is probably a sensible call given the fact that Caulkin states that Hayden no longer has a house in the North East.
The fact that Hayden opted to train alone away from the club is the clearest indication that his Toon career is over. There is absolutely no way back for him.
He was a top professional over the years, and someone who you could really rely on. Hayden was a fan favourite, but sadly the club has outgrown him. He desperately needs a fresh start, so let’s hope he gets that in the next few days.
