Eddie Howe has confirmed that Sean Longstaff has not travelled to France tonight for Newcastle United’s UEFA Champions League clash against PSG.
The 26-year-old midfielder joins the growing list of Magpie players now out on the injury table, with Longstaff sustaining an ankle injury during the international break.
And now, Howe has announced via Newcastle’s official Twitter account that Longstaff has not even made it to the French capital as part of the Toon’s travelling squad to face PSG.

With Lewis Miley potentially in contention to start for Newcastle this evening, Howe is down to the bare bones when it comes to senior players to call upon this week.
And Longstaff’s latest absence having missed Saturday’s win against Chelsea could hint that the 26-year-old is out for some time, only adding to the list of injury problems at Newcastle.
Indeed, Longstaff has established himself as a key player for Howe since the English coach’s arrival, and the midfielder being out over the festive period could be a huge blow for Newcastle.
Newcastle fans will hope PSG absence is the last for Sean Longstaff

Injuries have been the biggest talking point of the season for Newcastle fans, with a new player seemingly going down every few days with a fresh problem.
And for Longstaff, fans will be hopeful that the midfielder is only missing tonight’s clash against PSG ahead of Newcastle’s massive fixture against Manchester United on Saturday.
With so many players out injured, tonight could be a total write-off for Newcastle ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash against Erik Ten Hag’s side.
And for Longstaff, the midfielder will hope that he is back in time to face the Manchester giants, with another huge result potentially in the making in the Premier League.
