Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe was full of praise for defender Dan Burn after the Toon beat Leicester City 2-0 in the Carabao Cup.
Speaking to the media after the game, the Magpies boss was elated for the 30-year-old left-back, who had just scored his first goal for the club.
“It’s a great moment for Dan,” said Howe, as quoted by sports broadcaster Andy Sixsmith on Twitter.

“Great professional. This moment for him – you couldn’t script it.
“I was so pleased for him. And what a finish!”
Howe delighted for Burn
Having joined the Magpies in the January transfer window last year, Burn opened the scoring for Newcastle with a composed finish into the far corner of the goal.
This was the defender’s first goal at the club; a dream he would have had as a child, when he was a season-ticket holder at St James’ Park.
Having played in every single Premier League game this season, Burn couldn’t have picked a more important time to score for Newcastle.

The former Brighton man put the Magpies at ease with his finish in the 60th minute. Consequently, they went on to win the game comfortably.
Moving on to the League up semi-finals, Newcastle are one step closer to winning a major trophy for the first time since 1969.
With such great performances across the entire pitch, teams will struggle to beat Eddie Howe’s unit in the next round of the cup.
