Newcastle United are set for their second pre-season friendly of the summer against 1860 Munich on Friday.
The Magpies beat Gateshead 5-1 in a behind closed doors affair last weekend, but will now play in front of a crowd in Austria.
This is the first of two games for Eddie Howe’s side during their pre-season tour, as they continue to prepare for the new Premier League season.

So who will Howe pick to start against the German third tier side?
First start for Nick Pope
Newcastle have options between the sticks following the arrival of Nick Pope from Burnley. He’s yet to feature for his new club, but we expect him to start against 1860 Munich.

The England stopper will likely only play 45 minutes before making way for either Martin Dubravka or Karl Darlow.
The back four poses a conundrum for Howe, who is no doubt keen to see Sven Botman in action. However, we expect his first appearance to come off the bench, and are predicting an all English back four of Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles, Dan Burn and Paul Dummett.

Bruno is back
Newcastle’s midfield options against 1860 Munich are basically the same as they were against Gateshead, but for the addition of Bruno Guimaraes.
He will hopefully start in the middle of the central trio, flanked by the Longstaff brothers. Younger sibling Matty will hope to impress as he fights to remain at the club.
Big chance for Chris Wood

Ryan Fraser may have won go-karting, but we don’t think he’ll win a place in the starting XI. Out wide we’ve gone with Jacob Murphy and Allan Saint-Maximin. The latter looked particularly dangerous against Gateshead in the second half.
Callum Wilson started through the middle last weekend, but on Friday we expect to see Chris Wood. The 30-year-old has a point to prove as Newcastle continue their search for a new striker.
Predicted Newcastle XI to face 1860 Munich: Pope; Trippier, Lascelles, Burn, Dummett; S.Longstaff, Bruno, M.Longstaff; Murphy, Wood, Saint-Maximin.
