Eddie Howe could not hide his emotion after Newcastle United’s win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday night.

The Magpies won 3-2 at the City Ground, with Bruno Guimaraes inspiring Newcastle United to victory. He scored a brace to help Eddie Howe‘s side pick up a vital three points, on a night where they did not reach their top level.

Newcastle led three times against Nottingham Forest, but were pegged back twice. Fortunately, there was not a third equaliser and the Magpies were able to win.

It moves Newcastle up to seventh in the Premier League, as they continue to hold an outside hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

There was real relief on Saturday night after what had happened a week earlier against Luton Town, and Eddie Howe was visibly delighted after the final whistle.

Eddie Howe lets out huge roar after Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest

The club have released their match-cam footage from the win over Nottingham Forest, and the final stages of the video focusses on the players going over to the travelling fans and thanking them for the noise and support they provided.

The players and staff clapped the fans before Eddie Howe did something he rarely does. There was a huge release of emotion from the Newcastle manager, who is normally very mild-mannered.

It started with a little fist of celebration and a roar of ‘get in’, then Howe really gave it some. He stepped forward in front of the group and shook his fist again, leading to a roar from the Toon Army. Howe then raised both of his hands in celebration, before Bruno Guimaraes took centre stage.

While Howe will celebrate every victory, it is rare you see him so animated. It shows just how important this win was, as Newcastle look to re-solidify themselves as European contenders.
