Brentford fans had the last laugh over Yoane Wissa as they beat Newcastle United 3-1 on Sunday.

The Magpies were once again without their £55million striker, with Yoane Wissa still unavailable through injury.

In his absence, Brentford beat Newcastle United 3-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium. It was another woeful away performance from Eddie Howe’s side, with the game turning when Dan Burn conceded a penalty and was sent off.

That allowed Igor Thiago to score from the spot, and he helped himself to a second goal in the 95th minute.

As Brentford fans celebrated their emphatic victory, they sent a message to their former striker Yoane Wissa.

Brentford fans ask Yoane Wissa a question as they beat Newcastle United

The Gtech Community Stadium was in full voice in the 98th minute, as Brentford supporters poked fun at Wissa following his controversial move to Newcastle United.

The home crowd could be heard singing ‘Wissa, what’s the score’ in final few minutes of stoppage time.

The score was 3-1, as the Magpies slumped to 14th in the Premier League table. They have now lost three in a row in the league away from home, despite having been in front in their last two.

Newcastle threw away their lead against West Ham last weekend, and they did the same against Brentford.

Their woes without Wissa continued, with the 29-year-old still yet to make his Toon debut. While Newcastle are convinced Wissa will be a success, his £55million transfer continues to come under intense scrutiny.

Newcastle United are not going to rush Yoane Wissa back

Eddie Howe desperately needs his number nine available, but it is still unclear when he will be deemed fit enough to play for his new club.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United do not intend to rush Wissa back, with the hope being that he can have an immediate impact once he makes his debut.

The report states that he may not feature until December, which would mean he misses at least three more games.
