Newcastle United are back in pre-season action on Wednesday afternoon when they square off against Team K-League in South Korea.
The club’s pre-season tour of Asia has seen them leave Singapore for South Korea, with Wednesday’s game the first of two fixtures Eddie Howe’s side have to navigate.
Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-2 on Sunday, but Howe did see his side improve upon the performance they put out against Celtic earlier this month.
Newcastle lost 4-0 away at Celtic at the start of their pre-season schedule but will hope to have sharpened up after a competitive run out against the Gunners in hot and humid conditions.
It is the first time Newcastle have ever played in South Korea, so here’s all you need to know about the game.

Team K-League vs Newcastle United team news
Team K-League have confirmed that defenders Lee Tae-seok and Kim Moon-hwan of Pohang Steelers and Daejeon Hana Citizen respectively will miss the match.
Their squad consists of the best players in the Korean elite division, with fans voting for 11 of the squad members, plus a young player. The coaching staff then pick the rest. Jesse Lingard is not among the squad despite plying his trade with FC Seoul.

Newcastle are without Alexander Isak because the striker did not travel on tour with them. Isak is recovering from a “minor thigh injury” as speculation over his future continues to rage on.
Sven Botman will also miss the game. Botman has a groin injury and though it’s not serious, he won’t feature.
Elsewhere, Newcastle largely have their full squad available. There is hope that Lewis Hall can feature in the Korea leg of the tour as he bids to come back from an ankle injury he sustained in March.
Howe has confirmed that new signing Park Seung-soo could feature.
