Alan Shearer named Joelinton as man of the match in Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Norwich.
Ciaran Clark’s early red card made the task facing Eddie Howe’s side that much harder and the Magpies boss had to go to a 4-3-2 formation.
That meant Joelinton had to play as one of the central midfield three and on Amazon Prime at 9.24pm, Shearer said how impressed he was with the Brazilian.

“Joelinton’s done really, really well tonight. He’s stepped up and never hidden. Always been available for his teammates,” said Shearer.
“He’s tracked back and won the ball countless times when Norwich have been trying to attack.
“I’m going to go for Joelinton (as man of the match). He’s worked extremely hard. He’s given his team options tonight.
“He’s helped defend and tried to attack and get up and support when the chance has been there.”

Joelinton looks reborn under Howe and his confidence was shown in how he took shots on whenever possible.
As per WhoScored, nobody in a black and white shirt made more tackles or interceptions than him.
On a night where Newcastle’s team spirit was impressive, Joelinton showcased his desire to work hard for the cause once again.
