Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes was spotted absolutely distraught after the full-time whistle blew today against Manchester United.

As shared by Sky Sports on Twitter, the Brazilian was in tears when the Magpies’ Carabao Cup dreams came to an end, with the Red Devils coming away with the trophy.

The 25-year-old was visibly upset whilst the players clapped the Toon support – who were absolutely electric throughout the entire match.

Jacob Murphy was captured consoling Guimaraes, coming in for a hug with his teammate.

However, nothing could lift the squad’s spirits, after their performance wasn’t enough to keep Erik ten Hag’s side out.

Bruno loves the club – and the club loves Bruno!

Once again, this shows just how much Guimaraes loves Newcastle – and just how much Newcastle fans love Guimaraes.

Since arriving on Tyneside, he has always played with his heart on his sleeve, pouring incredible passion into his game on the pitch.

Again today, the Brazilian was excellent. He can certainly leave Wembley with his head held high, after giving everything he had.

The 25-year-old has and will continue to play a crucial part in Eddie Howe’s revolution of the north-east club.

With a top-four spot still to play for, Newcastle need to refocus and set their sights on the Premier League.

The Magpies will be ready to battle for Champions League qualification.
