Newcastle United’s newfound unity was underlined by their performance in the 2-1 battling win over Brighton today.
They had to withstand some early pressure but did not concede an early goal as Brighton started the game brightly.
Then, they flew into their visitors with a double blow, opening the scoring through Ryan Fraser before Fabian Schar made it two.

The second half was a bit of a slog and Lewis Dunk made it a nervy conclusion to the game when he headed home from under Martin Dubravka’s nose.
But Eddie Howe’s men saw the game through and Allan Saint-Maximin came off the bench to make his return from injury.
After the game, a photo showing the players and staff celebrating the win was posted on Twitter and Callum Wilson reacted too.
It is all the more impressive that Newcastle are doing all this without Wilson and with Chris Wood still not having scored since his arrival.
Wilson’s return will be a boost but it is not like Newcastle are on tenterhooks for it and unable to score without him, like they might have been under the previous manager.
No wonder he was thrilled, just like his Newcastle teammates on an afternoon where the league unbeaten run was extended to eight games.
