Newcastle United put another point on the board thanks to a 0-0 draw with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Eddie Howe’s side defended brilliantly at Old Trafford, and had chances to win it themselves. However, a draw was definitely a fair result.

Nick Pope 7/10
Another clean sheet for the summer signing. Nick Pope wasn’t tested too often, although his blushes were spared by Fred after he came rushing out of his goal.
Kieran Trippier 7/10
Kept Jadon Sancho incredibly quiet, and continues his solid run of form. A picture of consistency.
Fabian Schar 8/10
Was in the wars at Old Trafford, but battled on to secure a valuable point. great display from the Switzerland international.
Sven Botman 8/10
Newcastle United’s man of the match for me. An exceptional performance from Sven Botman, who now looks very comfortable in a Toon shirt.
Dan Burn 6/10
Started the game very well, but a yellow card for a foul on Cristiano Ronaldo made it a difficult afternoon. Could not handle the speed of Antony.
Sean Longstaff 7/10
Perhaps could have done better with the ball, but put in a real shift and won key duels. A determined performance from the local lad.
Bruno Guimaraes 7/10
We saw a different side to Bruno’s game at Old Trafford, who had to do a lot of battling. It was scrappy in the middle of the park, but the Brazilian showed his class at times. We were considerably less dangerous when he came off.
Joelinton 7/10
Should have been the match-winner. How he didn’t score in the first half is anyone’s guess. But misses aside, Joelinton looked like he had never been away.
Jacob Murphy 5/10
Pressed well off the ball and worked hard out of possession, but unable to have any real impact in the final third. Hindered once again by poor decision making.
Miguel Almiron 7/10
Worked tirelessly down the right as he always does. But unable to make the difference in the final third as he has in recent weeks.
Callum Wilson 6/10
Denied a clear penalty in the opening stages, but struggled to create any other openings. Dragged an effort wide at the beginning of the second half.
