That was a very exciting Newcastle United debut from Will Osula.
The 21-year-old arrived from Sheffield United this week, with Newcastle United paying an initial £10million for the Danish forward.
The hope is that Will Osula will develop into a consistent Premier League goalscorer, as Eddie Howe prepares to take his game to the next level.
After his arrival, Osula told Newcastle fans that he is a fast player, while he hopes to provide goals and assists in a black and white shirt.
Will Osula impresses as Newcastle beat Brest
The latter did not come on his Toon debut, but Osula certainly showcased his speed as Newcastle beat Brest 1-0 to end pre-season with a win.

He started up front against the Ligue 1 side, joining Harvey Barnes and Miguel Almiron in attack.
While it was only a friendly, there was a lot of pressure on Osula. He has arrived for decent money considering his lack of experience, and has been thrust into a team that will be hoping to challenge for Europe this season.
But the forward certainly held his own. In fact, he stood out. His movement was impressive, as was his ability to drop deep and keep hold of possession.
We saw examples of his speed too, while only the offside flag robbed Osula of a first goal at St James’ Park. He thought he had made it 2-0 with a very nice finish, but had made his run marginally too early.
Newcastle fans surprisingly impressed with Will Osula
It was a shame to see his goal get chalked off, but Osula really did make a strong first impression as a Newcastle United player.
Toon fans were certainly impressed with the new recruit, and have been praising Osula’s Toon debut on X (formally known as Twitter). For many, he looks a lot better than anticipated.
One Newcastle supporter tweeted: “Pleasantly surprised by Osula, especially with only two days training.”
“Impressive from Osula – think we have a steal on our hands,” commented a second fan.
A third member of the Toon Army wrote: “Been impressed with Osula, lots more to come.”
This Newcastle fan is very excited by Osula’s potential, posting: “Completely understand why we picked him [Osula]. Can see a lot of potential in him, his ceiling could be bonkers. Don’t underestimate the power of great coaching.”
“Osula will be decent with a bit more time training with the squad,” predicted this supporter.
Finally, a sixth Newcastle fan wrote: “Osula looks a top player with Eddie’s coaching.”
Osula shows he can be Alexander Isak’s backup
He arrived as an unknown quantity for most Toon fans, but it is now clear why the recruitment team decided he was ideal for Eddie Howe’s Magpies.
Osula is obviously nowhere near Alexander Isak‘s level right now, but he certainly has similar attributes that can make him an ideal understudy for the super Swede.
He likes to run with the ball, while he also has the quality of movement to race in behind and stretch defences. With a bit of work on the training pitch, Osula could develop into a really impressive player for Newcastle United.
While it was just a friendly, it was important for him to get off to a positive start. He has done exactly that, and hopefully he gets more chances when the season properly begins next weekend.
