Newcastle United fans have praised the performance of Ryan Fraser against Liverpool.
The Scotland international returned to the starting XI against the Reds, having started the previous two games on the bench.
Fraser has struggled for minutes in recent weeks, being forced off after 10 minutes against Norwich due to Ciaran Clark’s red card.
But the 27-year-old started on the left-wing against Liverpool, as Eddie Howe set up in a 4-5-1 formation.

Fraser’s had a tough time at Newcastle so far, but his performance at Anfield was massively encouraging.
He played a role in the opening goal of the game, with his cross being skewed to Jonjo Shelvey to give Newcastle the lead. While the cross was poor, his endeavour to get forward and create an opportunity for Newcastle led to the Magpies getting a shock lead.
That wasn’t the end of Fraser’s attacking contributions. A driving burst forward won a free-kick on the edge of the area, that Shelvey put narrowly off target.
He also nearly won a penalty, impeded in the box by Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, both Mike Dean and VAR decided against awarding Newcastle a spot kick.

While it was a disappointing result for the Magpies, the performance was encouraging. It was a great response after the 4-0 drubbing at Leicester.
Fraser’s performance was a huge improvement. He’s a talented player who we need to see more of. But to do that he needs a run in the team.
A run in the starting XI should be on the horizon for Fraser, and fans were certainly impressed with the 2020 signing.
