Martin Dubravka was restored to the Newcastle starting 11 for the trip to face Arsenal.
Newcastle are still waiting for that crucial first win of the season after suffering a 2-0 defeat.
Dubravka was beaten by strikes from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in the second half.
Perhaps he could have done slightly better for one or both of them but he performed well in the first half and prevented Newcastle from falling behind earlier with some impressive saves.

He justified Eddie Howe’s decision to bring him back into the side and will expect to keep his place for Tuesday’s huge clash with Norwich.
Some Newcastle fans on Twitter were also impressed with their goalkeeper despite the defeat.
Newcastle will hope to pose more of an attacking threat in that match with the Canaries.
Dubravka should have less to do in that game and a clean sheet would go a long, long way to a result.
As Newcastle dust themselves down and start to look ahead to that game, here is how Dubravka’s performance in north London went down on Twitter…
