Newcastle started their trip to face Wolves at Molineux with the back four which worked reasonably well against Watford.
That system had Isaac Hayden as the most advanced of the midfielders, but then Joe Willock went off injured.
But then Steve Bruce decided to go back to the back five, putting Hayden at centre-half.
Hayden went from a creative midfield role to playing as a central defender, while Newcastle were losing.
Jeff Hendrick did manage to get Newcastle back in the game but Hwang Hee-Chan won the game for Wolves.
The South Korean international netted twice, one in each half, to claim a 2-1 win.
After the game, some Newcastle fans gave their view on Bruce’s use of Hayden all over the pitch.
It’s fair to say they were confused and there was some sympathy for the Englishman.
