Callum Wilson has been ruled out of Newcastle’s game with Manchester United tomorrow.
Wilson was replaced in the second half of Newcastle’s last match, the dramatic 2-2 home draw with Southampton.
Speaking ahead of the trip to face one of his former clubs, Bruce confirmed the blow.
“Callum Wilson won’t make the weekend unfortunately with his thigh injury,” said Bruce.

“We’re not going to put a timescale on it. It’s really frustrating for Callum and for us. We’ve just got to give it as long as it needs.”
Unsurprisingly, Newcastle fans on Twitter had plenty to say about the injury blow.
There was particular and understandable frustration about Newcastle’s failure to make signings which accounted for this in the transfer market.
