Despite another huge victory for Newcastle United, fans are worrying about the injury Kieran Trippier sustained against Aston Villa.
The January signing captained the Magpies in the absence of Jamaal Lascelles, and led by example once again. Just like he did against Everton, Trippier found the net with a free kick to score his second goal in two games.
When the penalty decision was overturned and a free kick was awarded, it didn’t feel like a blow – that’s how good Trippier is. The £12million man duly delivered, smashing the dead ball past Emi Martinez via a deflection.

It was a vital strike from the right-back in the 35th minute, but he didn’t spend much longer on the pitch.
Shortly after the second half began, Trippier knocked the ball out of play and slumped to the ground. He was immediately replaced by Emil Krafth, who helped the Magpies battle for another three points.
Before the starting XI was confirmed there was a fear that the England international might miss out with a calf injury. He overcame that problem, only to pick up another issue in the second half.

After the game, Eddie Howe confirmed that Trippier had been stamped on and gone for an x-ray on his foot. He returned to St James’ Park on crutches and wearing a protective boot.
Losing Trippier to injury would be a huge blow after such a good week for the club. He’s already an integral player in a black and white shirt.
Newcastle fans desperate to know about Kieran Trippier injury

After the game, Trippier addressed fans via Twitter. However, he did not mention the injury that forced him to go to hospital.
He wrote: “That winning feeling. Delighted to score the winning goal today, brilliant performance by everyone.”
While Toon fans are still salivating over another Trippier free kick, they’re all asking the same question: How’s the foot?
