Another weekend of Premier League action means another round of Mark Lawrenson’s BBC predictions column.
The former Liverpool defender has offered his verdict on how he thinks Newcastle’s away game against Brentford will go on Sunday.
Newcastle go into the game on the back of six games unbeaten but Lawrenson has not backed to keep that run going here.

Lawrenson’s prediction
“Like Leeds, Brentford are another team on the slide – they have taken only one point from their past seven games, and a resurgent Newcastle will go above them with a win on Saturday.
“On form, you’d go with the Magpies to do exactly that, but I actually think this scenario might bring a big performance out of the Bees. Their fans will certainly have a part to play too because this is an absolutely huge game for their season. Their collective hunger could make the difference.
“Newcastle have picked up 12 points from their past six games, more than they managed in their previous 19. As good as they’ve been – and they’ve been very good – their levels are going to drop at some point and the nature of the Premier League means, when that happens, they will probably be beaten. Brentford 2-1 Newcastle.”

On the current form of the two sides, it would be a shock if Brentford were to win today, on what is another big afternoon in the relegation battle.
Brentford are good at home but have not been in the best of form and they are getting sucked into the dogfight week by week.
Newcastle should extend their unbeaten run here, but of course they cannot take anything for granted, they have to keep turning up and playing well.
