Eddie Howe might not have thought Newcastle United were at their best against West Ham United, but Bruno Guimaraes oozed class once again at the London Stadium.

Bruno was up against his close friend Lucas Paqueta, but it was the Newcastle number 39 who came out on top.

It was an effortless performance from the 25-year-old, who had the freedom of the capital at times.

Like so many Toon players, Bruno is enjoying an incredibly rich vein of form, and followed up his outstanding showing against Manchester United with another wonderous display – this time on the road.

Bruno helped Newcastle to brilliantly kick off a difficult run of three away games, and he has received praise from former Magpie Jose Enrique.

Jose Enrique’s message to Bruno Guimaraes

After the 5-1 win over the Hammers, Bruno took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support. And his message prompted a reply from ex-Toon defender Enrique.

He wrote: “What a performance again mate incredible. One of the best midfielders in the Premier League easy. Keep it going now and finish in top 4. The team and the fans deserve it.”

Enrique wants Newcastle to go all the way

The result means it is now four wins in a row for Howe’s side. We remain in third, and have a three point cushion over Tottenham Hotspur – as well as a game in hand.

With the way Newcastle are playing, we look absolutely unstoppable. Our top players are all delivering at the same time, which is leading to some excellent performances.

The Magpies were ruthless against West Ham, while Bruno was ‘incredible’ as Enrique says. He played a role in two of Newcastle’s five goals in the capital.

It was his pass that led to Alexander Isak’s goal, although it was largely down to an error by Hammers stopper Lukasz Fabianski. Then Bruno actually got an official assist, with his long pass playing in Joelinton to score his second and Newcastle’s fifth.

Bruno was amazing on Wednesday night, and it didn’t even feel like he had to get out of second gear. That is why he is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League right now.
