Jacob Murphy is one of Newcastle United’s most likeable players, and he has once again shown his class after the win over Everton.
Newcastle won 4-1 at Goodison Park on Thursday night, with Murphy grabbing his third goal in two games.
It has been an amazing week for the 28-year-old, who started it with a brace against Tottenham. His second goal was an outrageous strike, although he had complete confidence that he was going to score.
Murphy showed real ability to score from distance, but his goal against Everton was much simpler.
It was Alexander Isak who did all the hard work, dancing around the Toffees defence like a kid in a candy store. Some of them he even went past twice, as he embarrassed the opposition with his speed, control and ingenuity.

One second he was on the halfway line, the next he was dribbling the ball along the touchline, trying to find a teammate.
He eventually found Murphy via a deflection, who was at the back post to score Newcastle’s fourth of the evening. The winger was quick to congratulate Isak, as the Toon players ensured that he was the headline act of the celebrations.
Jacob Murphy’s post-match message to Alexander Isak
After the game, Murphy took to Instagram to post a selection of pictures from the win against Everton. He can be seen pointing at Isak following the 23-year-old’s outrageous ‘assist’.
Alongside the images, Murphy added the caption: “The boyos dug in tonight! Proud of the fight. Alexander Isak, you deserved that goal for that.”
Murphy thinks Isak deserved the goal, yet he ended the night with nothing to show for himself. While the run to set up Murphy was outrageous, it did not go down as an official assist.
That is because the pass was deflected, with James Tarkowski clearly diverting the ball in a different direction. It initially looked like Isak was trying to find Callum Wilson, but it instead fell to Murphy.
He deserved a goal, but he did not even get an assist. But the memory remains, and Newcastle fans will be talking about what Isak did for a very long time. Simply out of this world.
