It was another good Saturday for Newcastle United.
A week after an unconvincing win over Fulham, Eddie Howe saw his side thrash Tottenham at St James’ Park.
It means Newcastle are unbeaten in the Premier League since returning from the international break and have fresh eyes on a top-six finish.
They were fantastic against a Champions League-chasing Spurs side. Anthony Gordon was at his industrious best, while Alexander Isak had his teammate purring about another pair of fine finishes.
Despite battling injuries, Newcastle remain on course to qualify for the Europa League.
While not the glory of reaching the Champions League like last season, it would still be a remarkable achievement from Howe and his coaching staff given how difficult this campaign has been.
Players are starting to step up and Howe once again praised a Newcastle youngster.
Eddie Howe says Elliot Anderson is really pushing to become a regular now
Indeed, Howe was full of praise for young Elliot Anderson after the win over Fulham.
There has been a lot of hype about the 21-year-old but he’s seen his season ravaged by a complicated back injury.
Back in the team now and having started against Spurs, Howe was effusive in his praise once more.
He told TNT Sports: “Elliott Anderson was excellent, he’s been trying to burst into the team and stay in the team.”

How did Elliot Anderson play for Newcastle against Tottenham?
The stats make for very good reading for Anderson.
Anderson (via WhoScored), did his job defensively, making one tackle, one interception and five clearances.
Only Isak had more shots (6 to 5) and while only one found the target, it was the one Anderson created with a lovely turn in a tight space before forcing a great save from Guglielmo Vicario.
Nobody in the Newcastle team could beat his three dribbles either, while only Harvey Barnes drew more fouls (3 to 2).
After a difficult season on the injury front, Anderson is building some momentum.
