Newcastle United will be hoping to avoid a third defeat in a row when they face Brighton And Hove Albion on Saturday evening.
The Magpies need to bounce back after last weekend’s crushing defeat to Liverpool. Eddie Howe’s side should have won that game, but were punished for not taking their chances.
A sensational brace from Darwin Nunez snatched victory out of Newcastle’s hands, and they now only have three points from their opening three games.
It has been a very tough start to the season for Howe’s side, and it does not get much easier this weekend. Newcastle travel to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton, and they could be without key players Sven Botman and Joelinton.
It is going to be a very challenging game for the Magpies, and Premier League legend Dimitar Berbatov believes that Newcastle are going to suffer a third defeat on the spin.
Berbatov predicts Newcastle will lose against Brighton
Berbatov has predict the results of every Premier League game this weekend for the Metro, and believes that Brighton are going to beat Newcastle 3-2 on Saturday night.
“I was disappointed with Brighton against West Ham,” he wrote.
“What happened? They had the possession and were getting shots on goal.
“This will be a good game. Newcastle are a good team, but they need to know and be smart to take opportunities when they are leading one-nil, it will show the strong side of the players, they shouldn’t have left one centre-back, who is not the quickest, against Darwin Nunez who can out run him and score – that’s easy logic.
“I will back Brighton to win.”
Another defeat would be crushing for Newcastle
What a difference a few weeks make. Berbatov tipped Newcastle to get a point against Man City and beat Liverpool, but now he thinks the Magpies are going to lose for the third consecutive game.
The former Manchester United man has been wrong with his predictions about Newcastle as of late, so hopefully that continues to be the case.
It would be crushing if Newcastle lose again. The mood is already very flat after the Liverpool game, and it would be on the floor if we lose to Brighton in what is the final game before the international break.

Berbatov does not think Newcastle will get any points, but he has been wrong before about the Magpies, so perhaps that is a good omen.
