Newcastle United kept up their sensational run of form against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

The Magpies were without Eddie Howe for the second game in a row as he recovers from pneumonia, with Jason Tindall ensuring that Newcastle United put another three points on the board.

Newcastle’s win over Crystal Palace lifts them up to third in the Premier League, as the Magpies continue to ride a wave of momentum as they secured their sixth consecutive victory.

There were exceptional performances all over the pitch. Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy were incredible, while Sandro Tonali was dominant yet again in the middle of the park.

Elsewhere, Bruno Guimaraes believes Kieran Trippier deserves praise for his latest display in black and white.

Bruno Guimaraes’ message to Kieran Trippier

Following Newcastle’s win over Palace, Kieran Trippier took to Instagram to deliver a message to Toon supporters.

The 34-year-old wrote: “Really showing the quality we have as a team currently. 3 points, a clean sheet and an assist tonight.”

Trippier officially got the assist for Jacob Murphy’s goal, although I do not think he was trying to set up his teammate to score from such a tight angle!

Regardless, it was another great showing from Trippier, who received a message from Bruno Guimaraes following his Instagram post.

Bruno replied: “Can I say something? Brilliant as usual bro.”

Injury has resulted in Kieran Trippier’s Newcastle United renaissance

It has been a strange season for the Magpies’ veteran right-back. Trippier has wanted to play more, but has often played second fiddle to Tino Livramento on the right of defence.

But now Trippier is back in the side, and is playing incredibly well.

A cruel twist of fate has resulted in Trippier getting his place back. Had it not been for Lewis Hall’s injury, Trippier might not be in the team.

But with Hall out, Livramento has moved over to the left, which has created an opening for Trippier.

The £12million man has looked back to his best, with his wealth of experience proving to be absolutely pivotal.

He continued his impressive run of form against Crystal Palace, not putting a foot wrong. Eberechi Eze never got the better of him, while Trippier played a part in Palace’s penalty miss too.

Trippier has been a standard-bearer during his Newcastle United career, and that remains the case as the Magpies continue to stride towards Champions League qualification.
