It was not a good evening for Newcastle United at Everton on Thursday.
While Newcastle have done ever so well to keep pulling off the big results during a frankly ridiculous injury crisis, the trip to Goodison Park proved too much for them.
Kieran Trippier made two mistakes and Newcastle missed chances as Everton romped to a 3-0 win.
A pretty sour evening for the team after two such excellent performances against Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United and unhappy return for one Anthony Gordon.
It was not all bad, however.
Indeed, BBC Sport pundit James McFadden poured particular praise on one player. Tino Livramento did not go unnoticed.
Tino Livramento: Newcastle star praised vs Everton
The former Everton forward told BBC Radio Five Live at 19.45pm GMT on 07/12/2023: “Brilliant from Livramento stepping inside. That is the danger of playing Ashley Young in that position.
“He’ll be intelligent with the ball but you know Livramento is so comfortable on the ball and as a right-footer playing on the left, he will drive in field.”

Tino Livramento: How well did Newcastle star play vs Everton?
Perhaps not at his very best as he proved against Manchester United, Livramento still impressed.
According to WhoScored data, he ranked joint-first for dribbles in Howe’s squad (2) and ranked fourth for clearances (4). On a night when not all too many of his teammates covered themselves in glory, it was another promising outing.
Hardly to blame for the defeat, the injured Dan Burn faces a tall order in winning his place back.
Much more dynamic in an attacking sense, Livramento has proven an excellent addition and obviously a much longer-term prospect for the club.
Many may have raised their eyebrows when Newcastle spent £32m on what was then seen as a back-up right-back.
Now, however, Livramento is proving more than worth the money.
