Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon did his best Thierry Henry impression against Arsenal on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old scored the Magpies’ second goal as Newcastle United beat Arsenal 2-0 to give them a huge advantage in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Newcastle United stunned the Gunners early in the second half, with Anthony Gordon doubling his side’s advantage in the 51st minute as he reacted quickest to Alexander Isak’s saved shot.
The England international got in at the back post to score his sixth goal of the season, as he continues his remarkable run of form. Gordon now has seven goal contributions in Newcastle’s last seven games.
He celebrated his goal at the Emirates in front of the travelling Toon Army, but paid tribute to an Arsenal legend.

Thierry Henry is Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer, and one of his trademark celebrations saw him lean on the corner flag.
That is exactly what Gordon did on Tuesday night, and the Magpies’ number 10 has explained why during an interview with the club’s official website.
“I had it in my mind [the celebration] before the game,” he said.
“Henry is just a legend, isn’t he? One of the best ever in the Premier League. What better place to do his celebration than in the Emirates.
“I hope that wasn’t taken as disrespectful. It was more of a compliment to him. Iconic player, left winger, a compliment to him. Great moment.”

If you’re going to steal, steal from the best! That is exactly what Gordon did on Tuesday night at the Emirates, with the attacker making it clear that his Henry-inspired celebration was not meant to be disrespectful.
In fairness to Arsenal, they have more to worry about than a little celebration.
Their main problem is that they are now massive underdogs in the Carabao Cup semi-final, as Newcastle picked up a historic win in North London.
This was just the second time ever that Newcastle have won at the Emirates since it was built. It was also Eddie Howe’s first win there. And it was the Magpies’ first win without Bruno Guimaraes since he joined the club. The captain could not hide his joy, as Bruno celebrated Newcastle’s win at home.
His teammates were incredible, as they showed amazing fight and spirit to keep a clean sheet. It was a perfect performance from Newcastle, who have given themselves a great chance of reaching the final.
