Celebrity Toon fans Ant and Dec watched Newcastle United beat Arsenal 2-0 last night.
St James’ Park was full to capacity once again, as the Magpies ended their home campaign in style. The atmosphere was electric, and Eddie Howe’s side put on a real show.
The result all but killed Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four, while it also served as a reminder of the giant Newcastle United are becoming.
We’ve been on a real journey this season, and 2022 has been remarkable. It started with relegation looming, but we’ve survived with ease and can now look forward to a much brighter future.
After the game, the Newcastle squad and staff and their respective family took to the pitch for a lap of honour. They were also joined by club owners Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Amanda Staveley and Jamie Reuben, as well as newly appointed director Majed Al Sorour.
There was also a celebrity duo on the touchline at full time, with television stars Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, to give them their full names, making their way down from the posh seats.

The Geordie duo lived the dream for Toon fans after the game, joining the players and owners as they prepared for a lap of honour.
They waved flags and took over the club’s official Twitter account, posting a video as the squad congregated in front of the Gallowgate.
“For two fans like us to be here on pitch side, our tiny minds are literally blown,” Dec said.
The pair have since posted a selection of pictures they took themselves on their official Twitter account.
They took a selfie with Newcastle’s hottest new duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall, while they also posed with big Dan Burn. The centre-back looks taller than ever, but he’s probably aided by Donnelly’s little legs.
Ant and Dec have been pictured multiple times at St James’ Park this season, and have witnessed the remarkable recovery that Howe has masterminded.
They’ll be back next season, along with thousands of fellow Geordies who are buzzing to see what the future holds.
